A screen lights up while you are doing something else. You might need to answer. You might be curious. You might simply be used to checking.
The first question is practical: what makes this interruption worth your attention now? A strong pull is an experience to notice; it does not, on its own, establish urgency.
In predictive-processing accounts, precision concerns how much weight is given to information under uncertainty. That technical idea is richer than a claim that one chemical controls one feeling. Dopamine, serotonin and cortisol are not interchangeable labels for pleasure, confidence and stress.
Research on pleasurable music has measured dopamine-related responses under particular experimental conditions. It does not establish that a particular AATAM recording will produce a particular chemical change for you.
Our language therefore stays close to the experience: an absorbing world, a moment that draws you in, a question worth exploring. Enjoyment matters. It does not need a hormone promise to make it worthwhile.
